It is divided into such processes as body making, glaze making (including melting glaze block and grinding into glaze powder or glaze slurry), enamel coating, firing, decoration, etc. It is a traditional multiple coating method to coat the pre pressed or cast metal blanks with the primer first, and then coat the top glaze (once or several times) after firing. The base glaze is a transition layer combined with the metal blank, which has strong tightness. The top glaze is applied on the base glaze to cover the base color and give the products a smooth and beautiful surface and a series of excellent physical and chemical properties. The surface glaze is divided into opaque surface glaze (white and colored) and colorless transparent light glaze. The latter is a supplementary glaze applied to the outermost layer of the fired product to enhance luster or improve performance. Now there is a new technology of once coating enamel, that is to prepare a glaze, which can be used as both the base glaze and the surface glaze. The product can be obtained by once coating and once firing. 1. Preparation of enamel: The enamel is a glassy silicate or borosilicate coating coated on the metal body. Porcelain glaze consists of seven components with different functions (see table). The matrix agent is mainly composed of silicate, boron oxide, aluminum oxide and alkali metal oxide. The chemical composition of porcelain glaze shall be determined according to the type of body material and the requirements of product performance. It is required to weigh accurately, mix fully (dry mixing, or adding 5~15% water to make pellets), melt to a certain degree of uniformity in tank kilns (China's most commonly used flameproof tank kilns), crucible kilns or rotary furnaces, and then grind (using ball mills or air flow mills) into dry glaze powder or add water to make glaze slurry after water quenching, air cooling or hot pressing into thin sheets (0.6~1.5mm).
